The lake was not water. It was something deeper—something ancient that had forgotten the world yet remembered everything about it. Standing in its center, a lone figure barely broke the surface, the stillness of the water rippling out in perfect circles around him. Each wave was slow, deliberate, as though the lake itself were breathing.
Above him, stars spun in a chaotic silence. Below him, the unseen depths pressed upward, heavy and infinite, cradling his weight as though he were the only thing that had ever existed. Around him, spirals of light stretched outward like the web of some eternal truth, spreading endlessly, connecting points he could not see, binding moments he could not yet understand.
And in this place—this nowhere, this everywhere—he felt the weight of what he was.
